DMOs and the short-term rental market – your questions answered

With the ongoing rise of the sharing economy and short-term rental market, it’s clear that this is a sector of the industry that isn’t going away. So, as a Destination Management Organisation (DMO) or local authority, what are the issues that you need to be aware of and more importantly what can you do about them?

On 12 March, a DMO Summit will be taking place at ExCel London as part of the Short Stay Show and hosted by Quality in Tourism, the leading quality assessment provider in the industry.

Some of the topics will include:

  • Destination Growth: Hear from UK destinations that have successfully implemented visitor management strategies.
  • Tourism Tax: Is there a place for it or should you be looking to level the playing field and ensure all involved in the visitor economy are paying their dues?
  • Successful partnerships: How can you harness the early enthusiasm of a partnership and ensure long term benefits for all involved, including the traveller?
  • Giving back: How can you engage, inspire and nurture your tourism businesses and local communities to support one another.

Our MD Angie is going to be a part of the successful partnerships panel and she will be talking about her experiences including getting the membership model right, along with how you can use OTA’s to your advantage.

There will be plenty of opportunities for questions as well as networking with fellow peers before accessing the rest of the show in the afternoon.

Tickets are still available for the event and as a DMO or Local Authority entry is free.  Book your ticket here.
